Put Up or Shut Up

My mantra for finally publishing a novel

Enough is enough.

I have two novels sitting here ready to be finalized and published. Yet, I’ve procrastinated on both.

No more.

I have a milestone birthday coming up — not saying which one, LOL — and this date is now the catalyst for my first self-published book.

I’ve wasted far too many years doing other, less satisfying work. Now’s the time to show a little courage, especially since I’ve already checked so many boxes on my journey.

In my efforts to become a published novelist over the past two years, I’ve…

  • Created a pseudonym and registered its URL.
  • Registered a URL for the title of my first book (which is in line with the plot).
  • Established a general author bio and image.
  • Mapped out web designs for both sites.
  • Learned the KDP platform through a crash course in creating journals and other guidebooks under my business name. (I don’t know that it’s the best platform for a newbie writer/publisher, but in the interest of time, it’s where I’ll start.)
  • Purchased a stack of ISBNs. It’s daunting to buy ten at once, but I have plenty of material to ensure I use them.
